About Us

Entrance of Elks Lodge with a prominent sign.

Step inside the historic Elks Lodge at 516 Fourth Street and feel the warmth of generations who have gathered here. From the polished wooden bar where neighbors swap stories to the spacious banquet hall that hosts everything from high-school scholarship banquets to summer fish fries, this is where Brookings comes together. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has been a cornerstone of American towns for more than a century, and our lodge carries that legacy proudly. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or new to the prairie, you’ll find fellowship that feels both patriotic and personal, charity drives that fill local food pantries, flag ceremonies honoring veterans, and holiday parties that light up Main Street. Here, the handshakes are firm, the laughter is genuine, and every member is family.

What We Offer

Weekly member dinners featuring South Dakota–raised beef and fresh walleye, monthly all-you-can-eat fish fries that support local scholarships, private event rentals for weddings, reunions, and corporate meetings, veteran recognition nights with live music and patriotic programs, youth leadership camps teaching community service, and a fully stocked lounge perfect for relaxing after work. Our charitable outreach includes holiday food-basket drives, winter coat collections, and funding for local Special Olympics athletes. Every dollar raised stays right here in Brookings County, proving that when Elks gather, the whole community benefits.

A Proud Heritage

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
